The Country

The Republic of Poland represents, in the European context, one of the countries with which Italy has the most intense commercial and economic exchanges, so much so that in the most recent years (data updated to 2017) our country has confirmed itself as the third commercial partner for the Central European country (after Germany and China). In particular, the sectors most affected by bilateral trade concern, on the Italian export side, motor vehicles, industrial machinery, metal products, rubber and plastic, as well as electrical appliances and chemical products; while, on the import side, there are food products, electrical equipment and once again motor vehicles. Having become a member of the European Union in 2004, Poland does not, however, fall within the Euro area, not having adopted the single currency and not being part of the European monetary system ERM. The Polish monetary unit is the Zloty; the currency is freely convertible and currency transactions (both with EU member countries, the European Economic Area and the OECD) are free from any restrictions. Following its entry into the European Union, the country has harmonized its legislation with that of the Community, adhering to all trade agreements to which the Union is a party and currently applying the rules of intra-Community trade in their entirety. In fact, there are no restrictions on the transfer of goods within the EU-area, nor any type of duty on imports of goods from Member States, while the common external tariff applies to imports of goods from third countries. to the whole EU.
