Import and Export in Morocco

Imports and exports to and from Morocco are not subject to particular restrictions for investors residing within the European Union.
In fact, the association agreement of the European Union and Morocco, signed on February 26, 1996, and entered into force on March 1, 2000, resulted in the gradual implementation of customs exemptions for products from the EU territory. However, certain products are subject to import licenses on Moroccan soil, such as powder for explosives, coated or used tires and trinkets, vehicles and vehicle chassis, tractors, trailers, semi-trailers.
The foreign investor who wishes to make the most of the possibilities offered by the Kingdom of Morocco could also decide to take advantage of the possibility of importing and re-exporting free of customs duties. However, this will only be possible in export free zones in the Tangier region. Finally, Morocco has at the same time signed a large number of free trade agreements with neighboring countries. This means that, once the goods have been cleared through customs in Morocco, they can be re-exported to many African countries without the need to pay duties.
